When you’re planning a sailing experience, it’s normal to wonder: What if I wait a bit longer? What if I book last minute depending on the weather? The doubt makes sense, but the truth is that booking ahead can be the difference between a perfect experience and a missed opportunity.

At Sailing Trip Sitges we operate all year round with departures from the Port of Aiguadolç, and we know very well how demand changes depending on the season, the type of boat and the customer profile. Here’s why booking in advance is usually the best choice.

Availability: the factor that matters most

Some dates disappear fast. If you want to sail on a sunny weekend, in the peak of July or August, or during holidays such as Easter or long weekends, it’s very common for boats to be fully booked several days—or even weeks—in advance.

This is especially true for the MonAmour, which has greater capacity and is the preferred option for large groups, bachelorette parties, celebrations or team-building events. The Aida, being more intimate, also gets booked early for romantic packs or Golden Hour experiences for couples.

If you wait until the last minute, chances are you’ll have to adapt to whatever time slot is left, whichever boat is still available… or you may not be able to book at all.

Choosing the pack and type of experience

The earlier you book, the easier it is to choose the exact experience you want. For example:

  • If you want the full-day pack, you’ll need more flexibility to find an available date.
  • If sunset is your goal, the Golden Hour pack is one of the most in-demand options, especially in spring and summer.
  • If you’re coming with a group and want to book both boats at the same time, advance planning is essential.

In addition, booking ahead gives you time to personalise your experience: adding cava, adjusting the route, requesting something special… all of that is much easier when you’re not rushing.

Prices and promotions

Although our prices remain stable throughout the year, we sometimes offer discounts for early bookings or special rates for groups that plan their trips in advance. There are also cases where certain packs include free extras (such as paddle surf or cava) when booked before a specific date.

On the other hand, booking last minute doesn’t allow you to take advantage of these promotions. And if you wait too long and only inconvenient time slots or less-ideal boats are available, the value for money might not be what you expected.

Peace of mind and better organisation

Booking in advance also helps you plan your day more easily. You can combine the sailing experience with other activities (lunch at the port, visiting Sitges town centre, catching a film if it’s festival season…), without worrying about whether there will be any availability left.

This is especially useful if you’re travelling with children, coordinating with others, or simply prefer to enjoy the day without stress.

What if the weather changes?

Many clients hesitate because of the weather. But if you book with us and the sea conditions are not safe on the day of your trip, we will offer you a date change or a full refund. So weather concerns shouldn’t stop you from booking ahead.

In short, booking early gives you more options, more peace of mind and a better chance of enjoying exactly the plan you have in mind.

If you already know the date, don’t overthink it. Secure your spot and let the sea do the rest.
