One of the most frequent questions before boarding a sailing experience from Sitges is: what should I wear? Although you don’t need any technical equipment or special clothing, there are a few key recommendations to make sure you enjoy the trip in total comfort and safety, whether you’re on board the Aida or the MonAmour.

Dress light, comfortable, and in layers

The weather in Sitges is generally pleasant, but being at sea always adds a touch of freshness and wind, especially on sunset trips or in the cooler months.

The ideal choice is comfortable, breathable clothing that you can easily put on or take off:

  • Cotton T-shirt or polo shirt for sunny days.

  • Sweatshirt or light windbreaker jacket if you sail in spring, autumn, or on a Golden Hour pack.

  • Swimsuit or bikini if your plan includes swimming (very common on 4-hour or full-day outings).

  • Cap or hat to protect yourself from the sun.

  • Sunglasses with a strap (they get lost more often than you think).

Remember that even if the sun feels mild, it reflects and intensifies at sea: always bring sunscreen and reapply after swimming.

Non-slip footwear: the most forgotten item

One of the most common mistakes is showing up on the boat with loose flip-flops, espadrilles, or hard-soled shoes. The best footwear for a boat is:

  • Boat shoes, sneakers, or similar with white or light soles (they don’t mark the deck).

  • Sandals that fit well and have good grip (not loose flip-flops).

  • In summer, if you feel comfortable and the skipper allows it, you can go barefoot on board.

Both the Aida and the MonAmour have decks designed so you can move around comfortably, but it’s always important to avoid slips—especially if you’re on board with children or carrying drinks.

What if I’m going for a celebration or special experience?

Many of our guests come on board to celebrate a birthday, a bachelorette party, or even an anniversary. In those cases, you can dress a little more stylishly, but keep in mind you’re still on a boat:

  • Light dresses, fresh shirts, or comfortable outfits that can move with the wind.

  • Avoid heels, platforms, or unstable footwear. Even at celebrations, safety on board comes first.

  • If you’re on board the MonAmour for a big event, you can bring an extra change of clothes or accessories.

  • If what you want is a stylish photo session, we recommend the Golden Hour pack, where the sunset light and the yacht’s aesthetics will make any look shine on its own.

A final tip: the sea feels freer when you carry less

There’s no need to bring everything with you. A small bag or backpack with the basics (sunscreen, a light jacket, sunglasses, and water if not included) will be more than enough. The lighter you travel, the more you’ll enjoy it.

If you’re unsure about the weather or what to bring depending on the time of day or type of experience, you can always ask us before departure. Our team will be happy to advise you.

Ready to set sail? All you need is the sea, a smile… and the right shoes.
